630 Modules for Charles Sturt University
Over a 12 month period, Ecotec produced some 630 bedroom and bathroom modules for Joss Constructions in the Charles Sturt University Student Accommodation project. The modules were produced at a rate of 3 per day for around 10 months during 2008 and 2009.
The modules were fitted with timber inclusions for securing a stud wall (external corrugated side) and GPOs for power, lighting and data. All electrical fittings were cast into the modules during manufacture which meant that onsite, the wiring could be completed very rapidly - as soon as they were installed. The modular double storey design also enabled the second floor to be built with the first floor which dramatically sped up the build.
